Nz vs Ind, 3rd ODI: Preview

Match Previews

Not a result which we expected but its a part and parcel of the game, you deal with this everyday. Losing another ODI to New Zealand after the WC 2019 Semi-Final along with Rohit & Ms.Dhoni both not around is a big blow for Virat & to his leadership right now. Also, the injuries are hurting India in a long run now. But India need not take any tensions they are the Hosts of the next 50 Overs World Cup to be held in 2023, so they qualify automatically & almost settled for the tournament with a solid performance from Ravindra Jadeja & Navdeep Saini in both batting & bowling departments. Fielding is a concern & so as bowling with a heap of injured players. But as of now it’s not a situation where you press the panic button yet.

Now coming onto the 3rd ODI, the ground is a bit same to others in New Zealand with a drop-in pitch & a with a picturesque view of Mountains. Moreover it will be a bigger challenge as Kohli & Co. are already 2-0 down and series is lost now, another loss will mean whitewash. Teams look good, Visitors hold a upper hand on the Home Team after thumping them in T20I’s but Rohit Sharma’s calf injury is a concern & so as their bowling & fielding in both games has been horrific especially Bumrah is completely out of touch after coming back from injury and has not picked up wickets in two back to back games now which is a big concern. So, expect it to be a thriller again.

Pitch- The match will be played at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. The pitch here is usually batsman friendly with a bit of swing on offer due to terrain. Rain can be imminent factor here also.

India – India despite a tragic loss will not enforce big changes but Shardul going to bench is definite & Shami coming-in, while Jadhav might make way for Pandey. Although Jadeja played really well in all the departments with a 50 & a wicket to his name and also getting a run-out.
