After thrashing Srilanka by a massive 168 runs in 4th ODI, India look to clinch 5-0 victory over struggling Srilanka. With most of the Srilankan players injured the team now finally have their regular Captain Tharanga back in the side after two match ban and will look to win atleast the last match comprehensively. Although Mathews the former Srilanka Captain quoted that Srilankan team lack experience and unavailability of players which has led to this bad condition. With as many as three changes in the last match for India, they will look to give Rahane a go in the last match and he is expected to replace Shikhar who has had a good tour so far. On other hand Srilanka are likely to drop Hasranga and get their regular Captain Tharnaga in the side.
4th ODI between India and Srilanka marked auspicious occasion of MSD’s 300th ODI and he was felictated by Virat Kohli with a silver bat on behalf of the team. Also Shardul Thakur made his debut for India in the last match he took 1 for 26 in 7 overs with a economy of 3.7 and also the match marked the presence of jersey no. 10 first time after Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement as Shardul wore the jersey with no. 10 on his back, which made a controversy on twitter. Coming back onto match India won the toss and elected to bat, Dhawan got out early then Virat and Rohit made a massive partnership of 219 runs for 2nd wicket, Virat scored his 29th ODI century and later on Rohit also conpleted his hundred, a fifty and unbeaten 49 by Manish Pandey and Dhoni in the end ensured India the highest total ever by a team against Srilanka in Srilanka. In the second innings India wrapped up Srilanka cheaply and Virat was awarded Man of the Match for his superb performance.
The match will be played on same venue that is R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo and the same pitch which was used for 4th ODI is expected to be used. The pitch still looks good for batsman but bowlers might come into the game at later stages of the game.
