Kolkata: India vs Windies, 1st T20I Preview

Match Previews

After another breath-taking ODI series between India & Windies, it is time to shift focus on the smaller format of the game i.e. T20I’s. The home team will be up against the 2016 World T20I winners which actually won the title at the same ground  i.e. Eden Gardens Kolkata where the final of 2016 World T20I happened. Windies look far more stronger than India in every department specially in keeping department as Denesh Ramdin is back for Windies, who is actually the best keeper in this T20I series as compare to Indian’s and definitely India will miss MS.Dhoni in this series due to weak wicket-keeping options in Rishab Pant & Dinesh Karthik.

The match will be played at the Home of Indian Cricket, the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, West Bengal. Eden Gardens has hosted matches in major international competitions including the World Cup, World Twenty20 and Asia Cup. In 1987, Eden Gardens became the second stadium to host a World Cup final. The 2016 ICC World Twenty20 final was held at the Eden Gardens which was won by Windies in the final over by beating England. This ground has been lucky for India in past and the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 match between India & Pakistan was also played here which India won with ease.
