In a confirmed report from BCCI, the Srilankan Team will now play a 3 match T20I series against India in January rather than Zimbabwe. This change in plan came after Zimbabwe was banned by ICC in their Annual Conference in London in 2019 due to Zimbabwe being unable to conduct free & democratic elections. With this decision, Zimbabwe cricket will no longer receive ICC funding and representative teams from the country will be barred from participating at ICC events.
The tour itineary will remain same i.e. 1st T20I in Guwahati followed by 2nd in Indore & 3rd in Pune on 5, 7 & 10 January respectively.
