Former India & Tamil Nadu Cricketer VB Chandrasekhar who was 57 years old passed away due to a heart attack in Chennai today. Now in a recent turn of events it was confirmed by Chennai Police that VB Chandrasekhar has committed a suicide and his body was hanging from the ceiling fan. His wife was the first one to see it and she reported to police asap.
He represented India in 7 ODI’s with a best score of 53 runs. After a his cricketing career he focused on coaching & commentary. He also served as selector for Indian National Team for a quite a long time. He was also part of the Tamil Nadu Team which won the 1988 Ranji Trophy.
He was also the manager of IPL team Chennai Super Kings for the first three years and played a key role in convincing N.Srinivasan to appoint MS.Dhoni over Virender Sehwag as the team’s icon player. The former India batsman owned a team.
“It’s an absolute shock for me. I cannot believe it. He was an outstanding attacking batsman. It’s unfortunate that he did not play for more for India,” said former India captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth.
“We also did commentary together after our playing days. He was a warm person,” Srikkanth added.
